The Vice Minister Lee Gyungsu for Science, Technology and Innovation of the Ministry of Science and ICT presided over the virtual roundtable held to set the investment direction and standards for the national research and development of 2023.
MSIT has been setting the investment direction to allocate the budget, based on plans and priorities submitted by other ministries. In order to reflect a wide range of opinions from stakeholders, MSIT is collecting opinions of people from research institutes, academia and businesses.
The Vice Minister Lee emphasized the importance of science technology in resolving the national and social major challenges related to global tech competition, carbon neutrality, and digital transformation. He also urged the participants to make more suggestions so that the budget can be used in the most needed areas.
