- A platform for exchange among the world's top OTT platforms, technologies, content, and artists.
- Submissions are open from July 1 to July 22.

The Ministry of Science and ICT (Minister Lee Jong-ho, hereinafter referred to as ‘MSIT’) has announced that the “2024 Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards (hereinafter referred to as ‘Global Awards’)” will take place on October 6 at 6 PM at the outdoor theater of the Busan Cinema Center. This one-of-a-kind event in Korea gathers outstanding OTT platforms and content from around the world. Submissions will be accepted from July 1 to July 22.

The Global Awards are the flagship program of the "International OTT Festival," now in its second year. The awards aim to globally promote excellent domestic OTT platforms, technologies, content, and artists, and support their international expansion.

This year, the awards will continue to recognize leading innovations in the domestic and international OTT industry, introducing the 'People's Choice Award' to boost global audience participation. The awards will be organized into 15 categories (11 competitive and 4 non-competitive), presenting around 20 awards in total.

Competitive Categories Include:

▲ Best Digital Visual Effects: Awarded to content that showcases advanced production technology.
▲ Best OTT Original Series: Recognizing highly successful and high-quality original OTT content on a global scale.
▲ Best Creative: Celebrating content with innovative ideas and fresh formats.
▲ Best Original Song: Honoring content featuring outstanding original soundtracks (OSTs), a newly established category this year.

Non-Competitive Categories Include:

▲ New Technology: For platforms that provide innovative services, such as utilizing AI.
▲ Creative Beyond Border: Recognizing content that introduces new genres and innovative approaches.
▲ Rising Star of the Year: Awarded to individuals who have gained significant global recognition for their work.
▲ People's Choice: Celebrating actors and actresses with outstanding achievements over the past year, selected through global audience votes.

Submissions will be accepted from July 1 to July 22. After preliminary and final screenings by the judging panel, the final winners will be announced. Notifications for global audience voting on the Competitive Categories and the 'People's Choice Award' will be made in September.

The 2024 International OTT Festival, themed "Streaming the Future," will take place from October 4 to 6 during the Busan International Film Festival. Key events include:

▲ Global OTT Investment Showcase: Offering opportunities for selected domestic creators to pitch their projects to major domestic and international OTT platforms and investors, promoting joint production and investments in technologies.
▲ International OTT Summit: Sharing global OTT business outlooks and strategies for domestic and international OTT and content.
▲ OTT House: A dedicated communication space for domestic OTT.
Additionally, a private sponsorship system will be introduced to enhance the program and promote collaborative projects, further developing the International OTT Festival.

Choi Jun-ho, Director General of Broadcasting Promotion Policy Bureau at MSIT, expressed hopes that the 2024 Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards would become a premier platform for international exchange. He urged active participation and interest from domestic and international OTT companies and stakeholders, emphasizing MSIT's commitment to supporting the competitiveness and global expansion of Korea's OTT and content industry.
