The Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister: Bae Kyung-hoon) selected the NAVER Cloud consortium as the organization to carry out the “Cybersecurity-specialized AI Foundation Model Development” project after presentation evaluation of the two consortiums who had applied for the call for proposals.
During the presentation evaluation, the evaluation committee, comprising external experts from AI and cybersecurity sectors, conducted a comprehensive evaluation of 1) technological capabilities and development experience, 2) excellence and feasibility of development strategies, technologies, and goals, and 3) marketability and impact, based on the project proposals submitted and presentations delivered by each consortium.
The NAVER Cloud consortium received high marks for bringing together industry, academic, and research organizations with outstanding technological capabilities and development experience to form a large-scale consortium, as well as for its development strategies and goals involving multiple agents and a harness.
MSIT plans to provide the consortium with a total of 256 B200 GPUs over the next 10 months starting in September 2026 (after providing GPUs for the first five months, the ministry will continue supplying the remaining GPUs depending on the results of mid-evaluation).
MSIT plans to sign a contract with the NAVER Cloud consortium in September and provide GPUs to begin developing the cybersecurity-specialized AI foundation model. The ministry will also immediately form a working-level consultation group to help produce results as early as possible.
